INFLUX | Nayana Keshava Bhat, Manifesto of the Now – Acts of (non)Resistance

Manifesto of the Now is a series of performative acts by nine artists, standing for persistent attentiveness towards the Here and Now, placing the agency of change on the individual. It is a practice of resistance against fragmented perception, through dance, music and poetry, celebrating the whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Seven short solos and five group acts of various constellations inhabit four days in diverse spaces such as the studio, connecting hallways, the theatre blackbox. Each performance is an act of resistance, where the performers, dancers and musicians negotiate between the given choreographic structure and the imminent state of the body in relation to space and time. With distinct physical and sensorial themes, the artists in each act examine the Now from a different point of view.

INFLUX – Network for Dance, Theatre & Performance is an open network of artists from various disciplines. Founded & sustained since 2017 by Nayana Keshava Bhat in continual collaboration with various artists, interdisciplinarity plays a key role in INFLUX operations. Based in the city of Salzburg, INFLUX works at developing new formats in performances, artistic research, non-formal learning, collaborative projects with non-artists etc., thereby acting as a framework for artists to share their art with one another and the larger public.
