With their Barcelona-based company GN | MC, the Lebanese Guy Nader and the Spanish Maria Campos have consistently developed their own choreographic language that is grounded in a search for ambitious physicality and precision. In their works they create unlikely combinations of contemporary and classical vocabulary, acrobatic elements that test the limits of gravity, circus sequences and geometric shapes. Their creations also have something to say about human communities and their unspoken laws, about mutual trust, about letting go and catching, about the fear of the individual and the strength of the group. Their new dance evening Natural Order of Things is inspired by the concept of ordered disorder, existing as a microcosm within nature – a tiny universe full of self-replicating organisms. Like in natural systems, the ten dancers on stage follow unpredictable paths of apparent chaos to eventually reorganize into coherent groups. Cyclical and repetitive movements generate a hypnotic atmosphere that aims for perfection without ever achieving it. “An ode to life and ist fragile atmosphere,” Natural Order of Things is, in the words of its creators, “an attempt to reconnect with nature and thus find balance.”
