With SOLSTICE, Thorsteinn Einarsson is set to release his fifth studio album in March 2027 – thereby opening one of the most exciting chapters of his career to date. Inspired by the midnight sun of his Icelandic homeland, SOLSTICE tells the story of a long, bright and positive phase in Thorsteinn’s life: after many ups and downs, Thorsteinn describes the last two years as “a very long, very beautiful day”, a feeling that feels “like a never-ending summer’s day”.
Musically, the album brings together everything Thorsteinn Einarsson has stood for over the years: big pop melodies, powerful rock songs, emotional ballads and intimate acoustic moments. At the same time, the singer-songwriter proves himself more versatile than ever on SOLSTICE – not only as the writer of his songs, but increasingly also as a multi-instrumentalist and co-producer, playing a wide variety of instruments himself and playing an even more active role in shaping the process.
